As the 7th largest city in the California, and the most populous city in Orange County, the City of Anaheim is highly regarded for diversity in its residential, business, and commercial environment and progressive services it provides. In support of the City’s mission to provide first class services, the Public Works Department has engaged Psomas to develop the departmental strategic plan that prescribes the management and operational road map for next 7 to 10 year.

This presentation will recount how a business and operations driven strategic plan for a public works department identified GIS as the foundational and enabling technology, and a mission critical strategy for the Department to implement, expand, and sustain in the future. Psomas will also describe the inherent business connections to enterprise GIS implementation, and other technologies, systems, and information, to municipal government entrusted to protect, enhance, and benefit the health, safety, and comfort of its citizens, businesses, and visitors.
